Position Summary
The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This position maintains accurate financial records, processes transactions, and assists with reporting, reconciliation, and grant financial management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and organizational policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Three (3) or more years of accounting experience in a nonprofit or educational setting, preferred.
Special Skills:
Type of fingerprint clearance: Shall be fingerprint checked pursuant to A.R.S 15-512
Physical functions: The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or move materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Equipment used: Frequent computer use is expected
Work Environment: A typical office environment is expected.
