Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance team by performing day-to-day financial tasks that ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and reconcile vendor statements, vendor accounts, and credit card transactions, resolving any discrepancies in invoices, credits, or payments.
  • Perform online marketplace payment reconciliations and ensure payments are properly applied correctly. Resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bank accounts to ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Reconcile undeposited funds accounts and investigate any outstanding balances or discrepancies.
  • Reconcile clearing accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and properly allocated.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking systems to ensure all reconciliations, transactions, and accounting tasks are completed and reported.
  • Perform month and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion in accordance with deadlines.
  • Process approvals for various expenses reports, bills, payments and other transactions
  • Support the accounting team with additional projects and financial record maintenance as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
  • Previous work experience entering a high volume of transactions accurately.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, with moderate knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Detailed oriented with an eye for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Self-disciplined and capable of completing tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Accounting Associate degree a plus.

9:00am to 5:30pm (Monday through Friday)
