Accounting Associate

About Us

Valhalla Management is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. This position supports the day-to-day financial operations of over 50 properties and works closely with accounting, community managers, and leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior office experience who enjoys organization, problem solving, and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper will assist with various accounting and administrative functions related to property management operations. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, positive communication skills, excellent follow-through, and the discipline to work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices, receipts, and accounting transactions accurately
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable support functions
  • Check banking transactions daily
  • Communicate professionally with team members, vendors, and community managers
  • Maintain organized electronic records and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Experience using AppFolio
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Property management industry experience
  • Accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience
  • Previous experience working remotely

Position Details

· Full Time, Monday – Friday

Pay: $37,400.00 - $41,600.00 per year
