Accounting Clerk

Job Overview

Essmann's Cabinetry and Millwork, a company that specialises in high-quality custom cabinetry and furniture for diverse environments, is seeking a meticulous and organised Accounting Clerk. This full-time position is based at our office in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. The offered salary for this position is $45 - $55 USD per hour, dependent on experience.



Key Responsibilities

* Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate management of invoices, payments, and financial records.

* Perform daily data entry of financial transactions into our accounting system.

* Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy.

* Assist in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and statements.

* Maintain organised and up-to-date financial files and records.

* Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing processes.

* Communicate with clients and suppliers regarding billing and payment enquiries.



Qualifications and Skills

* Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar financial role.

* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.

* High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

* Exceptional accuracy and a keen eye for detail.

* Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

* An associate's degree or relevant certification in Accounting or Finance is desirable but not essential.

* Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) would be an advantage.
