We are a growing company managing multiple business entities across cement and aggregate industries. We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our financial operations by handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections across several companies with multiple locations.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our team. This role will work closely with the Controller and assist with a variety of day-to-day accounting functions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Create invoices, send them to customers, track incoming payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure bills are paid on time.
- Billing: Prepare and issue invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Payroll Support: Assist with processing employee pay, tracking hours, and ensuring payroll data is accurate for multiple payrolls.
- Data Entry & Recordkeeping: Enter financial transactions into accounting systems and maintain organized records for audits and reporting.
- Year End Closings: Assist with year-end closing activities, including preparing financial records, document management, organizing, archiving, and packing of records as needed.
- General Administrative: Administrative and accounting support as needed.
Qualifications:
- – including data entry, formulas, filtering, sorting, and creating reports
- Proficiency with computers and accounting software (experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills used for working with numbers and data entry
- Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections
- Skilled in Microsoft Word for document creation, formatting, and correspondence
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
This position will work directly with the Controller and play a key role in supporting the company’s financial operations.
