Accounting clerk

Our client is looking for an outgoing, responsible, experienced accounting person to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

Clerical Duties:

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and correspondence
  • Maintain organized filing systems (physical and digital)
  • Data entry and document management
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars
  • Prepare reports, letters, and other documents
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory

Accounting Duties:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and send invoices
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate financial records and spreadsheets
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Work with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred)
  • 1–3 years of clerical experience
  • 2-5 years accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to multitask
  • Bookkeeping experience

Compensation

$40,000 - $50,000 a year
