Current Opening:

SKH is seeking an Accounting Clerk for its Portland, Oregon office. We need a responsible, detailed oriented person with a minimum of three years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting to work with our amazing accounting team. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with excellent benefits after a short waiting period. This is a non-supervisory role that reports to the Head of Accounting.

  • You will work out of our Portland office but have contact with our other offices in both Oregon and Washington.

Primary work tasks include:

  • Accounts payable daily entries, processing, and updates.
  • Processing of credit card payments.
  • Posting client payments in accounting software and prepare end-of-day reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Answer calls and e-mails from clients related to billing and resolve issues.
  • Make edits to billing statements prior to sending out bills.
  • Prepare, sort, and send client invoices.
  • Manage payment of attorney membership dues and insurance coverage for Oregon and Washington attorneys.
  • Prepare year end spreadsheets for management.
  • Other bookkeeping and filing tasks as needed, including, but not limited to filing payroll information for all staff and filing for employee files.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years or more experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Produce work with a high level of accuracy.
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Quickbooks.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is an in person office environment. This position may require periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, stooping, and reaching in storage areas.
  • This position is Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is not open to remote work.
