Position Overview
The Finance & Accounting Department at Gulliver Prep is currently seeking to hire an Accounting & Finance Analyst to join our team of professionals. The Accounting & Finance Analyst position will be responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and supporting core finance and accounting functions such as forecast reporting, analytical support, process improvements and compliance. This role will be responsible to help ensure accurate financial operations, effective budget oversight, and timely reporting across the school.
Essential Primary Duties:

Process the bi-weekly payroll, including calculating, withholding and disbursing wages and benefits to ensure accuracy and compliance, while adhering to internal controls.

Interprets financial information, identifies issues requiring attention, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal control compliance.

Analyzes financial data, trends, and variances, and prepares reports, summaries, and recommendations for management and departmental leaders.

Collaborates with departments across the school to support budget oversight, improve financial visibility, and promote adherence to budget guidelines.

Supports the Director of Finance & Accounting in the execution of accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, special projects, report requests, and other departmental priorities.

Develops and maintains financial reports, dashboards, and analytical tools in Excel and Power BI to support decision-making.

Supports month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and the preparation of supporting schedules.

Assists with departmental budget development, monitoring, and forecasting, including the review of spending patterns and identification of variances.

Reviews general ledger activity and assists in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Reviews accounts payable activity for accuracy, appropriate coding, proper approvals, and compliance with internal controls; investigates and resolves exceptions.

Maintains organized financial records and documentation to support internal and external audits.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.

Two years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or a related area.

Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, budget support, and analysis.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, experience with Power BI preferred.

Experience evaluating financial data, identifying variances, and supporting management decision-making.
