Job Summary

The Accounting & Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory obligations in Egypt. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with Egyptian tax laws, and effective financial control within marine operations including vessels, port services, logistics, and marine projects.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

Manage and supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

Prepare financial statements in accordance with Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS).

Maintain proper accounting controls and ensure compliance with company financial policies.

Oversee vessel cost accounting, project costing, and operational expenses related to marine activities.

Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and working capital requirements.

Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

Tax Management

Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax laws and regulations including:

Corporate Income Tax

Value Added Tax (VAT)

Withholding Tax

Payroll Taxes

Prepare and review all tax returns and filings accurately and on time.

Manage tax planning and optimization strategies within legal frameworks.

Handle tax inspections, disputes, and correspondence with Egyptian Tax Authority.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on company operations.

Financial Controls & Compliance

Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.

Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and statutory requirements.

Support the implementation of ERP systems and accounting software.

Maintain documentation for regulatory and audit purposes.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis.

Support management with financial insights and cost control measures.

Team Management

Supervise and mentor accounting staff.

Assign tasks, review work, and ensure adherence to accounting standards.

Provide training and support for professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional certification preferred (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA, or Egyptian Tax Diploma).

8–12 years of experience in accounting and taxation.

Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards and Tax Laws.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar). preferred

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
