Accounting and Human Resources Coordinator

Reports To: Finance Director
Primary Function: Support smooth operation of accounting and Human Resources functions through accurate record keeping, compliance, and responsive service
Hours: M-F; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: TBD (target mid- March)
Anticipated Salary: $60,000-$70,000


Requirements

Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
Certification/License Required: None required
Experience: 1-3 years relevant accounting experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in software/systems (Excel, HRIS, payroll platforms, etc.), strong organizational and time management skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, effective communication and interpersonal skills


Essential Duties

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records/systems, including reconciliations and account review.
  • Process invoices and payments timely and accurately, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Manage purchasing for the school, including preparing purchase orders, ordering, tracking, and delivering goods and services.
  • Oversee purchasing processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with school policies, including software, classroom supplies, furniture, and transportation services.
  • Prepare and monitor billing and collection of fees (e.g., preschool tuition, electives, field trips, activities, fines, and other receivables).
  • Ensure vendor compliance with insurance and payment requirements.
  • Manage rental processes for approved facility renters in collaboration with the Activities Director.
  • Support the Finance Director with financial reports, audits, grants, compliance deliverables, and payroll preparation.
  • Handle cash deposits, receipts, and cash-handling procedures securely.
  • Maintain organized records for all financial transactions to support audits and reporting.
  • Support HR Director in the coordination of the employee lifecycle processes including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, offboarding, and reporting.



Anticipated Salary and Benefits
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience and skill level.
