Position Title: Accounting Intern- Retail

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Job Type: Part time (20 hrs./week)

Location: Onsite, Lawrenceville, GA

Duration: January 12th - May 8th (flexible dates as needed)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Majors Management, LLC is a leader at operating, developing, servicing and supporting retail convenience centers and gas station properties, and a leading distributor of high-quality branded motor fuels. Majors currently owns 800+ convenient stores across 21 states. The primary purpose of the Accounting Intern is to assist in projects related to general accounting procedures and to learn more about the convenience store industry. This internship will be involved in bank reconciliations, accounts payable & receivable processes, and general ledger analysis/reconciliations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the reconciliation of bank accounts in various banks
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations of credit cards, fuel inventory, merch inventory, and rebates
  • Communicate with other accounting personnel regarding bank variances
  • Work on variance analysis related to retail accounting functions
  • Learn and use software utilized by the company including Excel, PDI, and others
  • Participate in company wide intern learning events and engagement activities
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

    • In pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (preferably seniors and juniors, open to sophomores who have taken at least Principles of Accounting)
    • Ability to work onsite 20 hours a week in Lawrenceville, GA
    • Eagerness to learn and willingness to adapt in a collaborative environment
    • Authorized to work in the United States without restriction
