Specifically MAT was established in 2012 in Izmir, Turkey and was founded by fish husbandry industry experts. Our expertise in animal husbandry for over 35 years is our biggest competitive advantage. Furthermore we understand animal behavior and we know in depth the operational needs to run properly a facility. Our company develops and tests the equipment performance and ensures its ease of operation on our marine fish quarantine facility in Izmir. In addition we have designed our organisation to deliver successfully and on-time demanding projects in any part of the world. Finally MAT has developed to become a design, manufacturing and contracting leader in the field of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) and specialty filtration technologies. Currently, we employ over 300 highly-skilled staff of multiple nationalities.

We are looking for a ACCOUNTING MANAGER in our growing company.

Position Overview

Mat Group is seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations. This role serves as the financial backbone of our group, bridging our Turkey HQ with international subsidiaries and local group companies.

This is not a hands-off role . We need a leader who can coordinate with the CFO, manage relations with lawyers and Sworn CPA, and actively execute operational tasks. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations including Free Zone activities , Government Incentives (Turquality, TÜBİTAK) .

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience, with a strong background in manufacturing or group companies.
• Technical Expertise:
• Incentives: Deep knowledge of Turquality, Incentive, and TUBITAK processes is a must .
• Inflation Accounting: Practical experience with Inflation Accounting is required.
• Netsis ERP: Advanced proficiency is mandatory.
• Work Style: Strong "Hands-on" approach. Willingness to handle operational details (e.g., stock counts, contract signatures, detailed ledger checks) personally.
• Language Skills: Advanced English is required for international reporting.
• Certifications: CPA (SMMM) license is must.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting

• Inflation Accounting: Execute and control Inflation Accounting adjustments in accordance with current legislation.
• VAT Refund Process: Hands-on management of VAT Refund process and calculations.

2. Government Incentives & Free Zone Operations

• Incentive Management: Manage the full lifecycle of Investment Incentive Certificates (YTB) , Turquality , TÜBİTAK , KOSGEB , and SGK Incentives .
• Export & Fair Supports: Oversee applications for Ministry of Trade supports (Fair participation, Market Entry, Branding).
• Free Zone Operations: Manage Free Zone (Serbest Bölge) accounting transactions, warehouse entries/exits, and transition processes; ensure employees are informed and compliant.

3. General Accounting & Legal Compliance (Turkey)

• Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with Legal Regulations, and prepare all tax declarations (Vat, Withholdings, Corporate Tax, Provisional Tax).
• Legal & Corporate Affairs: Coordinate with the Company Lawyer for lawsuits, contracts, and e-trade ministry transactions; oversee General Assembly preparations.
• General Ledger Control: Hands-on management of daily accounting tasks including fixed assets (amortization), expense accruals, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Month-End Closing: Manage the full month-end closing process, including stock counts (inventory checks) and cost of goods sold calculations.
