Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Manager, a pivotal role responsible for orchestrating the overall general accounting function. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive professional to design, implement, and maintain robust accounting systems and policies, ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence.
As the Accounting Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of critical financial data. This role serves as a key liaison across internal departments, external auditors, and clients, playing a crucial part in maintaining transparent and compliant financial practices.
Lead and direct the accounting team, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and auditing work to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Oversee all fundamental accounting procedures including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, time billing, payroll, general ledger management, tax payments, and inventory controls.
Manage the comprehensive financial statement preparation process, including month-end and quarterly closing procedures.
Rigorously monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Act as the primary company liaison for external auditors, facilitating both annual financial and 401K audits with efficiency and transparency.
Execute complex accounting procedures, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, inventory roll-forwards, fixed asset tracking, and margin analysis.
Prepare detailed supporting schedules essential for the accurate compilation of financial statements.
Engage proactively with customers to address and resolve past due invoices, providing regular status updates to senior management.
Ensure that all active projects are meticulously covered by valid and binding contractual agreements.
Perform in-depth analysis of operational performance on a monthly basis, providing valuable insights to management.
Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions, preparing quarterly reports for strategic decision-making.
A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a comparable high-volume environment.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of general accounting principles, including practical application of accounting theory.
Proven strong leadership and supervisory skills with a track record of team development.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with experience using applicable accounting software.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external clients.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Experience with advanced financial modeling or business intelligence tools.
A proactive approach to process improvement and system optimization.
