Accounting Manager

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage complex accounting activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. <Responsibilities>

  • Oversee the full spectrum of corporate accounting functions, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor relations, and collections.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation activities to maintain precise financial records.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices in accounting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements relevant to governmental, non-profit, or private sector accounting.
  • Prepare regulatory reports, support internal and external audits, and assist with tax filings while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budget forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Support internal control initiatives related to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs or securities law where applicable.

<Requirements>

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards.
  • Proven expertise in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and financial management concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or Quicken; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements along with experience managing regulatory reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, or private equity environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial statement review accurately.
  • Excellent mentoring skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering professional growth.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
