We are a well-established construction company located in Lunenburg, MA, seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. This key role helps maintain accurate financial records across multiple active projects and drives timely, reliable reporting. Our office location is convenient to Fitchburg, Leominster, and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and complete documentation
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations; support job cost reporting
- Administer purchase orders (create/issue, track, match to invoices, resolve variances)
- Support subcontract administration (setup, document tracking, billing workflow, commitments/changes)
- Maintain organized project accounting files and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Support compliance and internal controls; coordinate with with internal team and external CPA as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Construction accounting preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks, Foundations, or similar accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage deadlines independently
