Accounting Manager

Senior Living Solutions is seeking an Accounting Manager

About the role

This is a dual-focus position. You will perform hands-on accounting and financial reporting work for the senior living communities in our portfolio while also serving as the supervising manager for three business office staff members who handle accounting, payroll, benefit administration, and billing. You will also serve as a key point of contact for the administrators and business office managers at the communities we oversee, providing guidance and support as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support three team members responsible for payroll, billing, benefits administration, and similar key accounting tasks
  • Lead office culture in a way that supports SLS’s mission, vision and values.
  • Collaborate closely with SLS business partners regarding office leadership and facility financial concerns
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for multiple senior living communities
  • Take ownership of the full-cycle month-end close process, perform detailed bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and ensure the general ledger is accurate and compliant.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and answer accounting-related questions.
  • Assist with the billing process in Point Click Care
  • Communicate regularly with community administrators and business office managers to provide financial guidance and problem-solving support
  • Assist in identifying and resolving financial discrepancies or operational concerns across client communities

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role preferred
  • Background in senior living, long-term care, or healthcare finance is a strong plus
  • Proven experience with ERP systems. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Point Click Care and Sage is preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — this role involves frequent collaboration with external contacts at multiple facilities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
