Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills to mentor accounting staff, ensure accuracy in financial statements, and maintain compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. The position offers an opportunity to lead the finance team while managing the financial data and strategies of the organization and contributing to it's long term financial health.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with credit union procedures, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Manages the operations of the department. Oversees general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and accounts payable functions. Responsible for vendor due diligence, payroll deduction program, and the annual budget.
- Oversees budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning. Prepares cash flow analysis. Conducts monitoring and reporting.
- Prepares regulatory reports and supports internal and external audits. Coordinates with committee members, examiners, and auditors, Supports internal controls by completing various monitoring and reporting tasks. Work with compliance staff to ensure oversight in appropriate areas.
- Lead and supervise the finance team, providing mentorship, development opportunities, and industry knowledge. Provides personnel with established goals and performance feedback.
- Participates in overall strategic goals and initiatives. Monitor financial concepts and collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency, implement strategy, or generate growth.
Experience
- Three to Five years of proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards. Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulatory reporting standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, financial analysis, and interpretation of complex financial data
- Background in regulatory filings and audit support preferred
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring accounting staff or teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
