Accounting Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Executes the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple entities
- Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensures proper revenue recognition, accruals, and cutoff procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintains compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Ensures timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including resolution of reconciling items
- Reviews accounting processes and recommends improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining strong internal controls
- Prepares and reviews financial reporting and analysis for internal management, headquarters, and external stakeholders
- Assists the Controller with annual audit activities, including preparation and review of audit support documentation
- Ensures cross‑training and adequate backup coverage within the accounting team
- Ensures preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal management, external agencies, and banking or other financial partners
- Assists in the annual budgeting process and related financial analysis
- Performs or leads other duties and special projects as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience supporting external audits
- Hands‑on ERP experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience preferred
- Inventory and cost accounting experience preferred
- Experience partnering with IT or ERP administrators on system configuration, testing, and controls is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, analysis, reporting)
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
This position is based out of our Bolingbrook, IL headquarters.
