Accounting Manager – E-Commerce

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Accounting Manager with strong e-commerce experience to lead and strengthen our accounting operations. The ideal candidate has experience working with major online retail portals such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Wayfair, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s.

This role requires someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves, work in a fast-paced environment, improve processes, and help build a strong and efficient accounting department. The Accounting Manager will oversee full-cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and bookkeeping functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations for the company
• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bookkeeping activities
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes accurately and on time
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
• Manage daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
• Handle inventory accounting and reconciliation across multiple e-commerce platforms
• Monitor sales, fees, deductions, returns, and chargebacks from various online marketplaces
• Reconcile transactions and payouts from e-commerce portals including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Home Depot, and Lowes
• Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition and cost allocations
• Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and operational processes
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and sales teams regarding inventory and financial reporting
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements
• Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
• Lead, mentor, and strengthen the accounting team while creating an organized and scalable accounting structure
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the department

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in e-commerce or retail industries
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting processes
• Hands-on experience with e-commerce marketplaces and retailer portals
• Experience handling high-volume transactions and inventory accounting
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-through
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• CPA is a plus but not required

Preferred Experience

• Multi-channel e-commerce accounting experience
• Marketplace reconciliation and payout analysis
• Experience with inventory management and COGS tracking
• Knowledge of sales tax compliance for e-commerce businesses
• Experience managing accounting processes for Amazon wholesale and other retail fulfillment channels

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
