Accounting Manager

ACCOUNTING MANAGER

This is a full time position based in our Malvern office.

In addition we maintain an extensive rental library which makes available chamber, opera, ballet, and symphonic music material of outstanding quality to professional and educational performing organizations.

If you’ve ever been interested in music or the publishing world, this role is your chance to work with super smart people and learn what it takes to manage the back of house operations. We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated, self-starter to serve as a full time Accounting Manager. The accounting department serves many important functions of a music publishing house to keep it operating smoothly. You will get to see the inner workings of a music publishing company by working with all income and expense related activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily and month-end accounting operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, departments. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounting transactions in those departments.
  • Managing the monthly close process and reconciliations.
  • Providing oversight and review of accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, including customer invoicing and collections; vendor payments; posting cash receipts applications.
  • Monitoring daily bank activities and posting.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Foreign currency purchase and payment through the bank websites and posting to the accounting system.
  • Issue and mail out checks for vendors, composers, and publishers
  • Filing sales tax quarterly
  • Managing company insurance
  • Fielding customer inquiries regarding their accounts
  • Reporting to Controller located in NYC

What we look for in the perfect candidate:

  • Bachelor degree required. Accounting degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience at managerial level
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to prioritize work with strong multi-tasking, organizational and project-management skills
  • Ability to work well with managers and staff alike
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and Word
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of classical music or publishing a plus but not required

Compensation will depend on prior experience. Excellent benefits package offered after 3 months of full-time employment.
