Accounting Manager

The Opportunity

We are hiring an Accounting Manager to serve as the head of our accounting function — responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of everything financial at The Bowden Companies.

This is a senior individual contributor and emerging leader role: you'll own the books, produce the reporting, build the controls, and be the financial backbone of our operations.

You'll work directly with the CEO, have visibility into every corner of the business, and play a meaningful role in how we grow. If you're someone who takes pride in clean books, sharp reporting, and financial systems that actually work — this role was built for you.

What You’ll Own

• Full-cycle accounting — general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Property-level financial reporting, including owner financial packages.
• Accounting platform administration and integration with payroll/GL systems.
• Internal accounting controls, procedures, and audit-ready financial records.
• Security deposit trust account management and multi-state compliance.
• 1099 reporting, tax coordination, and support for external CPA/audit engagements.
• Annual budget support — providing actuals, trend data, and per-unit benchmarking to operations leadership.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong command of GAAP and real estate or multifamily accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• A full-cycle closer — someone who takes month-end personally and hits the deadline every time.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills — you can explain a variance to a non-accountant without losing them.
• Multifamily property management accounting experience is a meaningful advantage.

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
