Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will oversee all aspects of our company's accounting operations and play a key role in financial planning, reporting, compliance and internal controls, while also supporting strategic decision making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting leadership, thrives in a hands-on environment, and brings experience in cost accounting to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Schedule Hybrid role; 2 days remote and 3 days in office
Travel: Out of state travel required several times per month
Duties
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Partner with leadership to support decision making with financial analysis and business insights
- Provide cost accounting and margin analysis for supplement production, including raw materials, labor and overhead
- Implement and improve financial systems, processes and internal controls
- Manage cash flow planning, banking relationships and financing needs
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed
- Lead and develop a small accounting/finance team
- Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and quality departments to align financial goals with production and business strategies
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Fishbowl, and NetSuite for efficient financial management.
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or similar field; CPA designation a plus
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Pharma/nutraceuticals experience preferred
- Strong understanding of cash management principles and financial concepts.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting processes and financial management strategies.
- Familiarity with various accounting software platforms (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) is essential
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also managing multiple priorities independently.
