ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s accounting activities, supporting accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective internal controls, and ensuring timely processing of financial transactions in compliance with applicable accounting standards and organizational policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensure correct payments are made in a timely manner
  • Prepares financial reports and ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable financial reporting standards
  • Supports the annual audit by assisting external auditors and providing required statements, documentation, and financial information.
  • Develops and maintains guidelines for proper invoice handling, coding, and documentation to support accurate general ledger, expense account, and inventory records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, and/or administrative experience involving recordkeeping
  • Must be proficient with all GAAP rules and accounting processes to include experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and overall accounting workflow tasks
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards
  • Must have the ability to travel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Office 365, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must be able to pass the USTA Safe Play and USTA FL Section background checks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

· Experience with accounting systems.

· Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· High degree of accuracy in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records.

· Professional, positive, and service-oriented approach.

· Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs and priorities.

· Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

· Resourceful problem solver with the ability to think creatively and recommend practical solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Generally, works in an office environment using standard office equipment. Local travel required as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Light physical demands: frequently lifts or moves up to 5 pounds and periodically lifts or moves up to 20 pounds.
