Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting and finance operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, proper inventory accounting, cash management, and internal control execution while supervising a team. The position requires a hands-on leader who can manage accounting processes efficiently in a streamlined environment and support the Director of Accounting/Finance in reporting to the foreign parent company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accounting Management
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare reporting packages for submission to the foreign parent company.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trail.
- Monitor and manage company cash activity (single bank account environment).
- Perform bank reconciliations and review cash transactions.
- Oversee AP payment scheduling and AR monitoring.
- Prepare basic cash forecasts and support working capital monitoring.
- Support standard costing for a single-product manufacturing operation.
- Ensure accurate inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Monitor production-related costs and perform basic monthly cost variance analysis.
- Ensure proper application of U.S. GAAP inventory capitalization and absorption costing.
- Execute internal control procedures designed by the Director.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties within a small team structure.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support external audits and coordinate with external CPA firms.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor staff members.
- Oversee AP, AR, GL, and inventory accounting functions.
- Establish practical and efficient accounting procedures suitable for a small organization.
- Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams to ensure smooth financial processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience coordinating with U.S. Tax Accounting.
- Experience in manufacturing or inventory accounting preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working in a small, hands-on environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organized and process-oriented.
- Effective communication skills with operations and headquarters.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
- Regular and consistent attendance at the office
- May require minimal travel to company offices or external meetings, if applicable.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Ability to use hands to handle office equipment such as computers, keyboards, calculators, and phones.
- Frequent communication with team members and other departments must be able to exchange accurate information clearly.
- Visual acuity required for reviewing detailed financial reports and working on screens.
- Ability to frequently be stationary and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally stand and walk short distances.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 15 lbs.
- Ability to lift overhead and at or below shoulder level.
- Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard.
Communication
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
- Participates in in-person collaboration, team meetings, and cross-functional communication.
- Korean and Japanese language speaking and writing ability is a plus.
Work Environment
- Full-time position (typically Monday-Friday)

- May require additional hours during peak reporting periods, month and year end close and/or audits.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
