Kitson & Partners, developers of Babcock Ranch, America’s first solar-powered town, has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager - Commercial Real Estate for our Palm Beach Gardens, FL location.
This isn’t just a "review and sign-off" position. You will be the engine behind our commercial business entities, working closely with the Vice President of Financial Accounting and site operators to ensure every transaction is precise and every deadline is met.
What You’ll Do:
- the monthly closing process, ensuring balance sheets are reconciled and monthly financial packages are board-ready.
- Manage job costs, fixed assets, and complex CAM reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Oversee debt roll-forwards and ensure we stay ahead of all financial covenants.
- Manage and mentor dedicated staff while acting as a key partner to our commercial development and property management teams.
- Identify gaps in current processes and implement smarter, more efficient internal controls.
- Drive to ensure monthly closing process is completed timely and accurately including the preparation and posting of entries, monthly review and sign-off on balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of monthly financial statements/variance reports for each property.
- Review of job costs to fixed assets reports monthly with completed reconciliations to ensure all transactions are posted correctly and schedules agree. Follow up and resolution of all variances within our internal control timelines.
- Allocations of indirect costs to projects including insurance.
- Active participant in monthly preclosing meetings with team and with commercial real estate operators (commercial development and property management) to ensure all transactions are identified and then follow-up to ensure transactions are completed and reviewed as necessary.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Board understanding of US GAAP and application with experience in financial statement preparation.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and accounting software/databases.
- Minimum 6 years’ related experience and/or training; preferably in commercial construction or commercial real estate.
- Knowledge of Yardi a plus, experience with large ERP package (Sage, NetSuite, GP, etc.).
