Accounting & Operations Specialist (Remote)

We are a growing remote CPA firm focused on relational accounting, proactive tax planning, and delivering a high level of service to our clients. We are looking for an Accounting & Operations Specialist who is highly organized, proactive, and excited to help create structure, improve workflow, and support operational excellence within a growing firm environment.

This is not a role for someone who needs constant direction or daily task assignment. We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, notices gaps before others do, follows through consistently, and enjoys taking initiative in a fast-moving remote environment.

The right person will have the autonomy to help shape this role into something great while becoming an integral part of our long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client communication and follow-up requests
  • Track missing information and help keep projects moving forward
  • Support bookkeeping and recurring accounting tasks
  • Assist with tax return workflow and document organization
  • Help improve internal systems, processes, and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate priorities and deadlines across the team
  • Maintain organized and accurate client records
  • Identify bottlenecks and proactively recommend solutions
  • Provide operational and administrative support within the firm
  • Support a high-touch client experience through responsiveness and professionalism

Qualifications

  • Prior remote work experience required
  • Experience working in a professional services environment or firm setting required (accounting, tax, legal, financial services, insurance, wealth management, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication and responsiveness
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently
  • Comfortable making decisions and solving problems proactively
  • Strong follow-through and accountability
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Canopy, or other workflow/accounting systems is a plus

This is a fully remote position, but it requires someone who is highly accountable, self-directed, and comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong communication with the team.
