Accounting position (Neville Island company) will be involved in general accounting operations, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Ensure payables and receivables are recorded accurately and timely. Work with vendors and internal business contacts to address inquiries and disputes in a timely fashion. Make check deposits and assist in collection of past due receivables. The job responsibilities to include:
Invoicing/Receivables
- Invoice customers for product & deliveries received utilizing QuickBooks and perform all related tasks with accuracy.
- Ensure match between customer purchase order, bill of lading documents and invoices.
- Processing customer invoices timely & accurately.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices and supporting documents.
- Work closely with account collections and customer invoice questions for quick resolution.
- Provide insightful detailed notes surrounding slow paying customer accounts.
- Review and process customer returns and credits, as applicable.
Payables
- Enter and process accounts payable invoices and ensure approvals are obtained and there is a match between receiver, supplier purchase order and supplier invoice within terms.
- Manage routine supplier questions and escalate appropriately.
- Process weekly vendor checks with proper supporting detail backup for approved check signers to review
General Accounting Duties
- Provide accounting support during the financial close process through general ledger account reconciliations and the preparation of financial schedules.
- Participate in departmental projects and perform all other duties as assigned.
- Perform bank statement and operating expense account reconciliations
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, including backup documentation and proper invoice coding.
Job Requirements:
- 2-4 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
- Working experience with QuickBooks or similar financial/accounting software system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of accounting process including accounts receivable, accounts payable, sales and use taxes.
