Accounting Specialist

Full Job Description:

The Accounting Specialist is the lead accounts receivable assistant in the finance department. Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee collection and processing of customer payments with accuracy of financial and transactional data.

· Maintain timely updates to CRM with all customer communication.

· Establish professional and positive relations with customers.

· Initiate communication with customers as needed including identifying missing invoices, underpays, past due balances and other issues. Provide information in a timely manner to supervisors and team members; lead weekly A/R meetings with internal business partners including Customer Service Reps and District Managers.

· Initiate collection attempts in accordance with internal procedure.

· Perform reference checks for all credit applications

· Create monthly journal entries; reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.

· Compile accounting reports as needed pertaining to accounts payable and receivable.

· Work with accounts payable as needed, including verifying and balancing receipts, and sending payment.

· Understand and utilize accounting software and financial systems to maximize operational efficiency.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Associate in Business, Accounting, or related field. Bachelor's a plus.
  • 1+ years of applicable accounting experience.
  • Demonstrate active listening skills with customer interactions, giving full attention to and taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Convey information effectively, verbally and in writing in English; Spanish a plus.
  • High level of organizational skills, integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow through on internal and external customer requests in a timely manner
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while maintaining accurate work processes
  • Experience and adaptability with computer software (ex. Word, Excel, accounting software, CRM, payment platforms, etc.)
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

  • This position is in person inside general offices and areas of a typical industrial laundry facility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
