Accounting Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Specialist supports daily accounting and finance operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role is responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and performing routine accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage accounts receivable activities including customer invoicing, payment processing, and monitoring aging reports

- Follow up on past-due balances and support the collections process

- Process credit card payments and reconcile merchant account statements

- Perform accounts payable tasks including purchase order matching, vendor bill entry, and processing overhead invoices

- Reconcile company credit card statements and ensure accurate expense reporting

- Prepare and submit financial and compliance documentation such as ACH setup forms, W-9s, sales tax exemption forms, certificates, and other required vendor or customer documentation

- Support accounting-related functions associated with shipping and receiving activities

- Perform additional accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed to support the accounting department

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

- 1–3 years of experience in an accounting role with general accounting knowledge

- Experience supporting month-end processes and account reconciliations preferred

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines

- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software preferred

- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) required

- Experience with Xero, Asana, or other SaaS business applications is helpful but not required

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Hybrid schedule available after job entry training period.

Compensation: Compensation based on education and experience, starting at $47,000 full time.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
