Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records.
• Conduct data entry with precision using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods to uphold data integrity.
• Support payroll management using systems like Paychex; verify payroll data and process payroll runs accurately.
• Assist with compliance requirements related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
• Prepare detailed account analysis, assist with budgeting activities, and perform tax-related tasks in accordance with governmental accounting standards.
• Contribute to internal audits by providing documentation on financial transactions and supporting audit procedures.

Experience

• Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with familiarity in public accounting practices preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
• Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex along with experience in payroll processing is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and data entry with high accuracy.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and tax regulations relevant to non-profit or corporate settings is a plus.
• Excellent mathematical skills combined with strong attention to detail; ability to analyze financial data effectively.
