Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing our financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting our financial operations. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and interpret financial reports for management review
• Conduct bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and bank statement reviews to monitor liquidity and financial stability.
• Compile and submit monthly sales tax returns.
• Utilize accounting software to record transactions accurately; maintain proficiency in technical accounting concepts including debits & credits, accrual accounting, and financial report writing.
• Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and account reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures, LIHTC regulations, and securities law is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software is essential.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration within cross-functional teams.
• Participate in weekly team Huddle with Accounts Receivable and Purchasing.
• Maintaining a database, ensuring that records are complete and current.
• Prepare financial statements.
