The role supports grant oversight, processes general ledger adjustments, and reconciles accounts. It also verifies bank transactions, prepares Business Office invoices, and monitors related accounts receivable, while providing additional accounting support across the Business Office.This is a hybrid eligible position that would allow for 2-3 days a week working from home after the training period.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Perform office function’s which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western’s culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.5. Grant Accounting - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Manage the accounting process for Federal grants, including budgeting worksheets, analyzing charges, providing detailed documentation, and ensuring accuracy.Coordinate with Post Award Grants Coordinator and Project Managers to develop and monitor Federal grant budgets.Request Federal PELL/Direct Loan funds.Process monthly Federal grant invoices for submission/reimbursement.Monitor grant receivables.Prepare entries related to grant activities.Analyze grant agreements and guidelines to determine financial reporting requirements, budget restrictions, and compliance obligations.Lead preparation of annual single audit and budget documents for grants.6. Cash Reconciliation – Supporting Action/Task May Include: Reconcile control bank
account.Review the daily cash worksheet, reconcile it to the general ledger, and prepare entries to record necessary cash activities.Process wires paid and wires received in general ledger.Monitor bank daily for wires/payments that need to be distributed.Monitor voids and void checks in general ledger.Verify payroll tax transactions.7. Other Accounting Functions - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Create Business Office invoices and monitor associated receivable aging.Submit Sales and Use tax report monthly.Prepare tax levy to distribute to municipalities and tax levy reconciliations.

This position reports to: Director of Finance Starting hourly salary range based on education and experience: $21.95 - $28.12 This position would include competitive salary, along with a wide variety of benefits available to full-time Western Technical College Employees.
