Job Overview

Northeastern Air Quality is a leading provider of services dedicated to improving air quality for residential and commercial clients. Our expertise in environmental consulting and our commitment to promoting healthier air standards have made us a trusted partner in the regions we serve. We are currently seeking a meticulous and organised Accounting Specialist to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time position based in either Georgia or New Jersey, United States.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our accounting records. This role is crucial for supporting the financial health of our organisation as we continue to grow and expand our positive impact on community health.

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and oversee all accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are correctly coded and posted.
  • Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyse financial information.

Qualifications

 

  • Proven experience working as an Accounting Specialist or in a similar financial role.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and the MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all work.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Experience within the environmental services industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
