Overview
Rockhead Consulting is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Accounting & HR Assistant to support both our finance and human resources functions. This role is critical to keeping our business running smoothly and efficiently, and you must have the ability to wear multiple hats. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, discreet, and comfortable working with numbers and people.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Accounting:

  • Manage timekeeping and expense reimbursements.
  • Classify and Post credit card charges.
  • Maintain databases for credit cards, benefits, etc.
  • Assist with invoice preparation.
  • Handle charge codes for employee’s time and expense
  • Maintain accurate record of PTO.
  • Assist with budgeting and planning exercises
  • Charge Code management
  • Assist with other day-to-day and yearend accounting functions.

Human Resources:

  • Act as a point of contact for basic employee HR questions
  • Process payroll for employees and contractors
  • Manage Benefit Plans
  • Work with 3rd party Administrator to ensure benefits are correct in the payroll system and on the paychecks.
  • Keep staff informed of changes/impacts via summaries and meetings.
  • Assist recruitment and employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Letter creation, E-Verify, Background Checks, etc.
  • Manage employee performance reviews and company surveys.
  • Maintain employee files with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Keep log of mandatory trainings by customer by employee
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies
  • Updating company handbooks, and policies as new situations arise
  • Assist with other day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties
  • Uploading all expense reports with receipts to Teams SharePoint, time off accrual postings, internal company audits, etc.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 year of Accounting/HR experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data entry) and MS Word
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, and ledgers)
  • Ability to process invoices, manage reconciliations, and update records
  • Strong data entry and numerical accuracy
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent people skills AND demonstrated dependability and trustworthiness.
  • Willingness and aptitude to adapt to new processes and technical systems.
  • Able to pass routine background checks

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with H-1b processing
  • Experience with using Unanet as the accounting system
  • Experience with using Gusto for payroll
  • Experience with using E-Verify
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
