Accounts and Payroll Clerk

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing employee payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment standards.

Duties

  • Process payroll using systems such as PAYCOR, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll-related entries
  • Manage benefits administration tasks related to payroll deductions and employee benefits enrollment
  • Prepare journal entries and perform double-entry bookkeeping to support month-end closing activities
  • Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

Experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Slack Workspace
  • Proven experience in payroll management and accounting software such as PAYCOR, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits and journal entries
  • Demonstrated ability in data entry and bookkeeping with high accuracy
  • Knowledge of benefits administration processes and tax regulations affecting payroll processing
  • Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
