Key Responsibilities
Account Assistants perform a variety of tasks to support the accounting department, including:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Processing invoices, payments, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and timely transactions.
- Financial Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers, and bank statements.
- Payroll Support: Assisting with payroll processing, data entry, calculations, and documentation.
- Reporting and Analysis: Preparing financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and assisting with budget tracking and variance analysis.
- Audit and Compliance: Organizing documents for audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and resolving discrepancies.
- Communication: Responding to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Administrative Support: Filing, data entry, scheduling, and assisting accountants with clerical tasks.
