ROLE OVERVIEW

The Accounts Assistant will support the Accounts & Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations, record maintenance, and compliance documentation. This role involves handling basic accounting functions including data entry, voucher preparation, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and support for audits and tax filings. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, disciplined, and capable of maintaining accurate financial records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accounting & Data Entry:

Record day-to-day financial transactions in Tally or accounting software accurately and promptly.

• Invoicing & Documentation:

Prepare sales and purchase invoices, credit/debit notes, and ensure proper documentation and filing.

• Bank Reconciliation:

Perform daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of bank statements with company books.

• Payment Processing:

Support preparation of vendor and employee payments and maintain payment records.

• GST & TDS Support:

Assist in compiling data for GST returns, TDS calculations, and filing support.

• Cash & Petty Cash Handling:

Maintain petty cash registers and ensure proper tracking of physical and digital payments.

• Inventory & Stock Records:

Help maintain updated inventory records in coordination with the dispatch and production teams.

• Audit Support:

Provide documentation and data to auditors during internal and statutory audits.

• MIS & Reporting Support:

Assist in generating basic financial reports and summaries as required by the Finance Manager.

• Coordination & Filing:

Ensure timely filing, scanning, and maintenance of all accounting documents and registers.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Education: B.Com / M.Com (CMA/CA Inter preferred) or equivalent qualification
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar accounting role
• Software Skills: Working knowledge of Tally ERP, MS Excel, and other accounting tools
• Other Requirements: Familiarity with GST, TDS, and accounting principles; strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
