Job Description – Accountant (Restaurant & Holiday Homes Business)

Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and initiative-taking Accountant to manage the financial operations of both our restaurant business and short-term holiday rental company. The candidate will be responsible for accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, cost control, and ensuring smooth financial processes across both segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily bookkeeping records accurately and up to date.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Record and reconcile daily sales and revenue entries.
- Post daily bank entries and prepare reconciliations with bank statements.
- Prepare food cost sheets and manage inventory control systems.
- Manage VAT and Corporate Tax filings in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Assist external auditors by providing required documentation and schedules.
- Oversee daily cash closing and ensure cash handling compliance.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, stock closing, and variance analysis.
- Monitor supplier payments and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Record rental income and reconcile it with booking platforms and systems.
- Update and monitor the room/property management system daily.
- Reconcile room/property management system data with accounting records.
- Ensure timely landlord rental payouts and share payout statements.
- Track customer refunds, cancellations, and booking adjustments.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for both businesses.
- Conduct variance analysis between budgets, forecasts, and actual performance.
- Manage petty cash and ensure accurate accountability across outlets/units.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards, VAT, and corporate tax laws.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s/bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality and F&B.
- Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, and UAE financial regulations.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, ERP systems, and Room Management software).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage operations across two business lines.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
