Job Summary
The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, budgeting, compliance and financial reporting. The role includes managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining financial records, monitoring cash flow and coordinating audits while supporting hotel management in financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the entire accounting department and financial activities of the hotel.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports and records.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger.
- Monitor daily revenue, reconcile cash and bank transactions and verify night audit reports.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and cost-control measures.
- Ensure statutory compliance including GST, TDS, PF, ESI and other local tax regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to hotel management.
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely payments.
- Implement and improve financial policies, systems and procedures.
- Oversee inventory audits and verify stock consumption reports from departments.
- Ensure secure handling of hotel funds and financial data.
- Work closely with Front Office, F&B, Purchase and other departments for financial coordination.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of hotel accounting procedures and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP, or hotel-specific PMS systems) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership and organizational skills.
- High accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and team management abilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (M.Com / MBA Finance preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in hotel/hospitality industry.
- Experience handling audits, taxation, payroll and financial reporting in hotels.
