Position Overview:
The Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting financial planning and audits. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience in accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record and maintain all day-to-day accounting transactions (sales, purchase, receipts, payments, journal entries, etc.).
- Prepare monthly trial balance, profit & loss, and balance sheet.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely reconciliation.
- Handle petty cash and expense reimbursement records.
2. Bank & Reconciliation
- Prepare and verify bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Monitor fund flow and coordinate with banks for transactions and statements.
3. Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and PF/ESI returns.
- Maintain records for statutory audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all government accounting and tax regulations.
4. Payroll & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with HR for salary processing, advances, and deductions.
- Verify vendor bills, purchase orders, and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain vendor ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
5. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management review (cash flow, expense analysis, outstanding reports, etc.).
- Support management in budgeting and financial forecasting.
6. Audit Support
- Assist internal and external auditors with required data and documentation.
- Ensure corrective measures for audit observations.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Tally / Zoho Books / ERP accounting systems.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial data analysis.
- Accuracy, confidentiality, and organizational discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
- Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance role.
- Preferred: Exposure to manufacturing or service industry accounting.
