The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst in the construction industry is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices, subcontractors, and project-related expenses. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, contract compliance, lien waivers, and subcontractor documentation.

Process high-volume invoices for vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers with accuracy and timeliness

Review and verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and project budgets

Ensure proper coding of expenses to jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts

Manage subcontractor payments, including tracking and collecting lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance documents

Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to resolve invoice discrepancies

Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments

Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper documentation for audits

Monitor aging reports and address outstanding liabilities

Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reconciliations

Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant construction regulations

Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.

Support cross functional team initiatives.

Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas; Create and develop excellent relationships with key contacts

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or a related industry

Strong knowledge of job costing, subcontractor billing, and construction compliance requirements

Familiarity with lien waivers, W-9s, and 1099 reporting

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), and with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred.
