Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Clerk (Hybrid)
Location: Hybrid (Primarily Remote with Occasional Client Site Visits)
Compensation: $45,000-50,000 annually + Benefits
We are a fast-growing fractional accounting and finance firm serving small to mid-sized businesses across multiple industries. Our team partners with clients to provide high-level accounting support without the overhead of a full internal department. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Clerk to support multiple client engagements.
This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person visits to client offices during initial onboarding and training.
Position Overview
The Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Clerk will manage day-to-day transaction processing across multiple client accounts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a multi-client environment.
This role requires strong QuickBooks Online expertise and the ability to operate independently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including vendor setup, bill entry, payment processing, and reconciliation
- Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, cash application, collections follow-up, and customer account reconciliation
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online across multiple client accounts
- Assist with purchase orders and cost tracking where applicable
- Support cost accounting processes, job costing, and inventory tracking (when applicable)
- Communicate with clients and vendors regarding billing discrepancies or payment issues
- Assist with onboarding new clients, including occasional on-site visits for training and process setup
- Maintain strong internal documentation and follow established accounting workflows
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on QuickBooks Online experience (required)
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Strong understanding of transaction-level accounting and reconciliations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cost accounting and purchase order management
- Experience working in a multi-client or outsourced accounting environment
- Familiarity with job costing and inventory management
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
