Accounts Payable and T&E Accountant

As an integral member of a highly collaborative accounting team, the Accounts Payable & T&E Accountant supports the full lifecycle of vendor setup and maintenance, processes Accounts Payable (AP) and Travel & Expense (T&E) transactions, and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely financial operations. This position reports to the T&E Supervisor and includes the additional responsibility of supporting payroll accounting during month-end close.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible role (including: medical, vision, dental, and 401K with employer match) based in Denver, Colorado. Pursuit offers a hybrid work environment model of three days in office and up to two remote

The salary range for this Denver based role is $58,000 - 62,000/year

RESPONSIBILTIES

Accounts Payable

  • Maintain open communication with vendors and build strong vendor relationships
  • Assist in purchase order (PO) lifecycle, including validating PO accuracy, matching Pos to invoices, and troubleshooting discrepancies
  • Support procurement activities by ensuring accurate vendor onboarding, documentation, and compliance for purchasing purposes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance purchasing workflows, drive process efficiencies and strengthen internal control
  • Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including US and Canadian vendor compliance practices
  • Complete annual 1099 (US) filings
  • Monitor AP mailbox
  • Monitor the Missing Vendor Queue

Travel & Expense (T&E)

  • Audit employee expense reports for reimbursement
  • Set up and maintain new users in Expense Reporting System and provide ongoing support
  • Provide back-up support for T&E month-end responsibilities
  • Monitor T&E mailbox

Payroll Accounting (Backup Duty)

  • Provide month-end backup support to payroll accounting, including reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and validation of payroll data in coordination with the payroll team
  • Assist in ensuring timely and accurate posting of payroll expenses to the general ledger
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, Outlook, Teams and Word
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Expensify, Coupa, Coupa Expense and Payroll is a plus
  • Associate’s degree or certificate in accounting or related field preferred
  • Strong “can-do” attitude, resourcefulness, and flexibility
  • Sound decision-making, problem-solving, and judgment skills
  • Commitment to positive working relationships across the organization
  • Comfortable working with a geographically dispersed team
  • Highly organized, adaptable, resilient, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
