Accounts Payable Clerk

Hines Precision Inc., a growing, local manufacturer serving the global automotive, electronics, and consumer goods industries, seeks a highly motivated and experienced full-time Accounts Payable Clerk.

We are looking for a skilled accounts payable clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' data
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients' billing issues
  • Review and reconcile inventory differences related to purchases
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
  • Become expert in daily use of the ERP system and job-related computing systems
  • Complete other assigned tasks

Skills

  • Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk (or accounts receivable clerk)
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Understand compliance issues involving accounts payable processes (e.g., W-9, sales tax, 1099s, etc.)
  • Understand expense accounts
  • Data entry skills along with a passion for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • Enough charm to politely and professionally extract information and supporting documents from fellow production, staff, and management employees, as needed
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • BS degree (or pursuing) in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is required to regularly sit, talk, hear, and may participate in audio and/or video teleconferences
  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is required to competently correspond via email and other written communications with employees and suppliers
  • Employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Employee will regularly traverse our office and production areas investigating and gathering information related to supplier invoices, inventory disposition, and other expense information

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
