Responsible for the day-to-day processing and oversight of the hospital district’s Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant disbursement of payments to vendors and suppliers. Serves as a backup for payroll processing to support continuity of operations, though payroll is a secondary responsibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years Payroll and Accounts Payable experience preferred, in a related field. Business education can substitute for one year of the required experience. Six-month minimum computer input experience.
- Accurate 10-key, computers, copy and fax machines,legible handwriting. Ability to work well under stress.
- Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, entry, and payment processing in accordance with district policies and internal controls.
- Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of vendor payments and proper documentation retention.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly.
- Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and 1099 reporting, and ensure compliance with IRS requirements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve payment issues.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and audit support.
- Serve as backup support for payroll processing, including reviewing and inputting payroll data in UKG to ensure accurate and timely payroll runs.
- Review and resolve payroll edit errors and assist with employee and supervisor payroll questions as needed.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports when providing backup support and communicate results to leadership as requested.
