Job Summary: Reporting to the AP/ Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the processing of payroll for multiple states on a biweekly schedule. Create and maintain reports and respond to payroll related inquiries. Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of all applicable processes, as well as state and county payroll laws and taxes.
RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED T

Making sure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsible for full-cycle payroll and will be assigned to handle multiple groups of employees.

Process multi-tax jurisdiction payrolls for roughly 1200 employees. Pay cycles include Hourly and Salaried employees.

Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

Ability to respond and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies in a professional, accurate and timely manner while delivering quality customer service.

Verify funds for stop payments are properly credited to accounts.

Assist with year-end close including processing documentation.

Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system.

Processing wage garnishments.

Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.

Perform special projects as needed.

Prepare documentation for payroll audits.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a payroll position; Bachelor’s Degree a plus but not required; accounting or relevant field is a plus

Knowledge of the Paycom system and reporting is a strong plus

Strong Working Knowledge of Excel.

Knowledge of Payroll best practices, applicable payroll tax, and related laws and regulations, NY, NJ, and PA a plus.
