Accounts Payable Specialist

Princeton Upholstery is a manufacturer of fine furniture located in Middletown, New York with showrooms and representatives throughout the United States. We are seeking an experienced accounts payable clerk to join our accounting team. The accounts payable clerk will be responsible for processing a medium volume of invoicing (100-150+ weekly). Candidates must have three years of accounts payable experience with emphasis on multiple company accounts payable. Macola / Elliott and ODOO experience is a plus. This is a fast-paced office and the ability to manage, prioritize, and organize is a must.

Job Duties include:

  • Managing accounts payable using software and other programs
  • Process invoices, checks, ACH’s, and wires
  • Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
  • Organize and prioritize invoices to pay matching to PO’s and/or packing slips
  • Ensure timely approval for processing invoices
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
  • Setup vendors in system, collect and maintain accurate records
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be detail-oriented and display a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Strong data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
