is working with a well-established organization to identify an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This role supports day-to-day AP operations and works closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payment processing.
Key Responsibilities

Review, verify, and process vendor invoices with a high level of accuracy, ensuring proper coding and approval prior to payment

Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation; investigate and resolve discrepancies

Process vendor payments via check, ACH, and wire transfers in accordance with payment terms

Maintain accurate and organized AP records, including vendor files and supporting documentation

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status, payment timing, and discrepancies

Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payments to maintain positive vendor relationships

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances or variances

Assist with month-end close activities, including AP reconciliations and accruals

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements

Support internal and external audit requests as needed

Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiency, and internal controls

Assist with vendor setup and maintenance, including W-9 collection and verification
-
Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and operations teams to resolve invoice and payment issues

Maintain and update Accounts Payable-related standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

3–5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting

ERP system experience required (NetSuite preferred)

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

Experience with invoice matching, accruals, and month-end close preferred

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a similar environment preferred
