Accounts Payable Specialist

Role Description

The Firm is seeking a skilled, self-directed Accounts Payable Specialist . The ideal candidate will have high-level experience with a range of billing support applications. Additional qualifications include excellent analytical and organizational abilities, solid communication and self management skills, creativity, initiative and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices and check requests
• Set invoices up for payment
• Enter and upload invoices into accounting software
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Monitor accounts to make sure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files – Confirm W9 obtained when needed
• Assist in 1099 process and maintenance
• Work closely with vendors for credits, discrepancies & other vendor related inquiries
• Ability to interact and communicate with attorneys/staff on issues until resolution
• Propose and implement AP process improvements
• Oversee credit card process
• Other duties as assigned

Skills:

• Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
• Extensive computer and database expertise
• Understanding of basic accounting principles

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience with relevant skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Proficient in Coyote or similar legal billing platform preferred
