Accounts Payable Specialist - Construction

SUMMARY

We are looking for a standout player to join our accounting team. This person will provide essential accounting support for our construction projects internally while also interacting with clients and trade partners outside of the organization. It is essential that this person has strong computers skills with a basic understanding of ERP accounting software, with strong written communication and documentation skills. The ideal candidate can shift quickly from one task to another, enjoys variety in their workday, has impeccable attention to detail and a strong commitment to follow through. This person will need to have excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable processing
  • Invoice review, job cost coding, and data entry
  • Contract/budget review and CO entry
  • Vendor management and communication
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Subcontractor payment processing and compliance coordination
  • Compliance tracking and follow-up (lien releases and waiver documentation)
  • Filing & Data entry
  • Full cycle Accounts Receivable processing
  • General accounting and administrative support as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Prior Accounts Payable experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in high-end residential or commercial construction environments (highly desired)
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems, specifically Sage 300 (experience with Procore is plus)
  • Strong understanding of: Subcontractor billing processes; Compliance documentation (COIs, liens, waivers); Reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
